Un progetto dal campo alla scuola che parla ai giovani, nel loro linguaggio, del legame tra sostenibilità, alimentazione e salute.
National Forum on Biodiversity was held in Palermo and was the first major scientific event of the National Center for the Future of Biodiversity. In this meeting, over 600 researchers from all over Italy discussed sensitive issues such as redevelopment of degraded areas, nature conservation, the relationship between nature and well-being, and the development of effective tools to prevent biodiversity loss.
To manage and develop such a complex collaboration network, the Center was designed following the Hub&Spoke model, which is divided into 6 thematic Spokes dedicated to the sea, land and wetlands, and cities. To these are added 2 cross spokes dedicated respectively to training, communication, knowledge sharing, and innovation and policies also through international connections. The core element of NBFC is the multidisciplinary scientific knowledge and expertise of researchers, the wide availability of information aggregated in the Biodiversity Digital Platform, and the close link with the territory (protected areas, businesses, institutions). A key element of the center is the link with local intervention structures and citizens (Citizen Science) through dedicated projects and specific knowledge tools. It is possible to collaborate with the center both through research and innovation calls dedicated to specific projects and through national and international protocols and collaboration agreements aimed at enhancing research and innovation and transforming them into value for biodiversity and the territory.

The National Biodiversity Future Center is one of the five national centers dedicated to frontier research involving institutions and businesses throughout Italy. Within the framework of the initiatives characterizing the collaboration between the National Biodiversity Future Center and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a call has been launched to select joint research projects in the fields of biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and ecosystem protection.
Experts from the two countries will work together to explore challenges and solutions related to the health of our planet, which are expected to result in scientific publications of “high impact.”
The partnership between the NBFC and the Chinese Academy of Sciences represents a tangible and virtuous example of international cooperation, which continues to strengthen over time.
This year, the third edition of the Sino-Italian Conference on Biodiversity will be held in Naples, following numerous other bilateral activities, including the Summer School that took place in Beijing and Shanghai in June and July 2025.

SEE ALLL’obiettivo perseguito dal Centro Nazionale per la Biodiversità, coerentemente con la propria missione e con il Progetto PNRR, è quello di realizzare un’iniziativa strutturata in grado di favorire la nascita e lo sviluppo di nuove imprese innovative che valorizzino i risultati della ricerca scientifica in materia di biodiversità.
Tale obiettivo sarà perseguito mediante il presente avviso per la selezione di un operatore qualificato – in particolare incubatore certificato e/o acceleratore – con il quale condividere un progetto di investimento orientato alla creazione di strutture dedicate alla generazione e promozione di startup nel settore della biodiversità.

SEE ALLLo Hub del National Biodiversity Future Center attiva la raccolta di manifestazioni di interesse per la realizzazione di un progetto sperimentale di citizen science finalizzato alla tutela e valorizzazione della biodiversità in siti caratterizzati da particolare interesse naturalistico. Il progetto dovrà essere coerente con gli obiettivi relativi alla conservazione ex situ di specie autoctone a rischio, al monitoraggio per il tracciamento della biodiversità, alla valorizzazione e alla divulgazione scientifica.
